Centenary of the Royal Air Force - RAF100



This year Britain celebrates 100 years of the Royal Air Force, and you mustn't miss it because there will be plenty of entertainment - there will be concerts, exhibitions and galas. The event, dubbed the RAF100, will be held from the 31st of March to the 30th of November and will be at several venues - the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Air Force Museum, the Barbican and there will be a flypast at The Mall with 100 current and historical aircraft. The RAF Centenary Foundation Day at the Royal Air Force Museum

This event is the Foundation Day, and it will feature plenty of entertainment for all - you expect to enjoy flag making workshops for the whole family, the RAF Baton Relay Team as well as a variety of theatre performances.

RAF Centenary Concert: 100 Years of British Music at the Barbican

What is a centenary celebration without music? The RAF100 will feature the London Concert Choir, one of the best classical music orchestras in the world. They will play pieces by famous artists like Parry, Walton and Britten and contemporary works by Roderick Williams.

Royal Air Force Museum exhibition openings

To get a better understanding of the Royal Air Force schedule a day to visit the museum. The 2 new galleries will be open to visitors on the 30th June where they can meet some of the top heroes of the RAF in the last 100 years as well as see aircraft, both old and new. You will also be able to take in RAF operations in the Falklands war.

RAF100 Aircraft Tour at Horse Guards Parade

From 6th to 9th July the RAF100 tour will stop at the Horse Guards Parade where you can see RAF service people using some of our most cutting edge technology.
